New Client Welcome
I’m so glad you’re here and ready to begin your hypnotherapy journey. This page will guide you through everything you need to know before your first session so you can feel prepared, comfortable, and confident.
Preparation for Your Hypnotherapy Session
To get the most out of your hypnotherapy session, it’s important to prepare your environment and yourself so you can fully relax and focus on the process. Here are a few simple steps to set yourself up for success:
Be hydrated and have eaten before your session so you feel comfortable and focused.
Sit in a comfortable chair where you can relax and move your arms freely.
Create a quiet, private space where you won’t be disturbed by pets, family, or phone calls.
Turn your phone off (just as you would in a doctor’s office).
Check your internet and sound before the video call begins.
Keep tissues nearby because sometimes an emotional release will come from nowhere. It’s always good to have them around.
Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to fully relax.
How Your Session Will Flow
Review & Discussion (approx. 30 mins) – We’ll begin by talking through your goals and your intake form. We’ll get to know each other, and I’ll ask questions to make sure I understand any specific considerations, and that we’re clear on what you’d like to achieve. I encourage you to be as open and honest as possible, so that you can gain the most benefits.
Relaxation Hypnosis (approx. 30 - 45 mins.) – I’ll guide you into a deeply relaxed, hypnotic state where your mind becomes more open to the positive changes you want to create. We’ll take our time, so you feel safe and supported.
Reflection & Next Steps (approx. 15 mins) – After hypnosis, we’ll reflect on your experience. I may give you simple “homework” or techniques to reinforce the changes already underway.
Each time you go into hypnosis, it becomes easier and more natural—so future sessions may not need as much time. Most clients feel noticeably better after just one session.
At any time, feel free to ask questions. This is YOUR session and I want you to have the best experience working with me!
Policies & Procedures
Confidentiality – Everything shared in our sessions is private and confidential.
Session Length – Sessions generally last 60 to 90 minutes. (First sessions will likely run closer to 90 minutes). Session outcomes are independent of time. Sometimes clients experience a significant change in a short amount of time. If this happens, we may both agree to end the call early. Minutes are not carried over.
Payment – Payment is required 48 hours before your scheduled session. Without payment, your session will need to be rescheduled.
Rescheduling & Cancellations – For courtesy, I ask that you please provide 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule.
Late Arrivals – If you’re late, we may still need to end at the scheduled time.
Internet Connectivity Issues – We can usually work with small disconnections or lags, but if severe issues are disrupting our session, rescheduling or booking a new session will be discussed on a case-by-case basis.
Important Health Information
Hypnotherapy is a powerful tool for creating positive change, but it is not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment. If I feel that you are better served under a medical physician’s care, I will let you know, and I can provide referrals for medical support. Some services, for example, working with addictions, weight loss, or intense phobias, will require a doctor’s referral before we can proceed.
If you are under medical care, taking medication, or have a condition such as epilepsy, heart problems, or a diagnosed mental health condition, please let me know well before your session. This may require a doctor’s referral before we can proceed.
Hypnotherapy is not suitable for crisis situations. If you are experiencing an emergency or thoughts of self-harm, please contact your doctor or local emergency services immediately. I am also required to report an emergency or thoughts of self-harm.
Relax & Enjoy
The more open and ready you are for change, the more powerful the process will be. Above all, remember to relax and have fun with the process. You’ll likely feel lighter, calmer, and better after just one session.
